Amazon Healthcare Services official Neil Lindsay has informed his employees about this plan through a letter. In a letter written to the employees, he told that Amazon has opened a new tab, due to which a few hundred jobs will be cut in its healthcare unit. However, he did not give information about how many employees would be laid off.

According to Business Insider, about 115 positions could be eliminated at Amazon’s One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy. Apart from this, there is a possibility of further layoffs in this sector. It is estimated that a total of 400 employees may lose their jobs.

According to the report, Amazon’s leadership wants One Medical to significantly reduce its operating losses and has asked the healthcare company to save an additional $100 million this year. One Medical aims to reduce its fixed operating costs from 41% of total revenue to 20% by 2028, according to the report. Amazon has started 2024 with job cuts in several units. This includes Buy with Prime, audio book and podcast division Audible, and streaming unit Twitch.
