The state government has revised the fares for cab services within the state. The government has increased the fares of city taxis and vehicles running under aggregators like Ola and Uber.

The Transport Department has divided these fares into three parts, which have been fixed on the basis of the cost of the vehicles (Cab Fare Fixed). The new fare includes minimum and extra charge on Taxi Fare. If you travel at night, a surcharge has also been added, which means that you will have to pay more fare for night travel than during the day.

This decision has been taken by the Karnataka Government. The fare has been fixed for Ola-Uber and other cabs in Karnataka. Under the leadership of Under Secretary Pushpa, the Transport Department has categorized the fare into three parts based on the cost of the vehicle. The new fare will be applicable with immediate effect. The state government said that these fixed rates will have to be strictly followed.

Action will be taken if rules are not followed

According to the report of Moneycontrol, the government said that this order has been implemented with immediate effect and it will have to be strictly followed. If someone does not collect fare on this basis, action can be taken against him. The government said the move is aimed at addressing widespread complaints of overcharging in the city’s taxi service and promoting a uniform fare system for all.

How much fare for which vehicle?

  • For vehicles up to Rs 10 lakh, the minimum fare is Rs 100 for 4 km and Rs 24 for every extra km.
  • For vehicles priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, the minimum fare is Rs 115 for 4 km and Rs 28 for every additional km.
  • Minimum fare of Rs 130 and Rs 32 per additional km for vehicles above Rs 15 lakh.

    You will have to carry this much luggage for free

The government has also introduced some additional rules, in which carrying luggage up to 120 kg will be free. After this, waiting rate of Rs 7 per 30 grams is free for the first 5 minutes, after that Rs 1 per minute will be included. 10 percent extra charge has been imposed on taxis plying between 12 midnight and 6 am. Additionally, GST toll fee may be collected from passengers, but no recovery can be made on a time basis.
