PMAY 2.0: On August 9, 2024, the Union Cabinet gave its approval to this scheme designed to assist EWS and middle class families in urban areas. As PMAY 2.0, the government intends to build 1 crore new houses, in which every unit will get a financial subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh.
PMAY 2.0: If you want to take advantage under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana 2.0), then the government has launched the second phase of PM Awas Yojana for you. The second phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY 2.0) has been launched by the Center with the aim of providing financial assistance for housing to the economically weaker section (EWS) and middle class families living in urban areas.
On August 9, 2024, the Union Cabinet gave its approval to this scheme designed to assist EWS and middle class families in urban areas. As PMAY 2.0, the government intends to build 1 crore new houses, in which every unit will get a financial subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said that in the last phase of PMAY Urban, 1.18 crore houses were approved, out of which more than 8.55 lakh houses have been built and these houses have been handed over to the beneficiaries.
The benefit of this scheme will be given to you under four categories, which include Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) and Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS).
How to apply?
- The online application process for 1 crore new families under PMAY-U 2.0 has started. Eligible persons can now submit their application online.
- To apply online, first go to https://pmaymis.gov.in/PMAYMIS2_2024/PmayDefault.aspx.
- Now click on Apply for PMAY-U 2.0 and go to Proceed and fill the details and submit.
- If you are not eligible for this, then you will be stopped here.
- If eligible, in the further process, you will have to enter your Aadhaar number and name. Then go to Generate OTP.
- Now OTP will come on the registered mobile number, by entering which you can follow the further process.
Which documents are required?
- Aadhaar details of the applicant (Aadhaar number, name as per Aadhaar, date of birth).
- Aadhaar details of family members (Aadhaar number, name as per Aadhaar, date of birth).
- Applicant’s active bank account details (account number, bank name, branch, IFSC code) which is linked to Aadhaar.
- Income proof (PDF file only, size 200kb)
- Caste/Community proof (in case of SC, ST or OBC). (PDF file only, size 200kb)
- Land document (in case of beneficiary based construction BLC component). (PDF only, file size 5mb)
