Ahmedabad Plane Crash: After the Ahmedabad plane crash, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced a huge relief for the families of the victims. LIC has said that the families of those who died in the accident will be given special relief in the insurance claim settlement process.
The Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad killed 265 people, including 242 on board. Meanwhile, the country’s largest insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Friday said it has relaxed the claim settlement process for the families of the victims and has also expedited the process. The company said it is committed to helping the families of the plane crash victims.
LIC said in a statement, “LIC has announced several concessions to ease the hardships of policyholders. In lieu of a death certificate, any proof of death of the policyholder due to an air accident in government records or any compensation paid by the Central/State Government/Airline will be accepted as proof of death.”
Emphasis on early settlement of claims
LIC said, “All efforts will be made to reach out to the claimants and settle the claims of the affected families at the earliest. For further assistance, claimants can contact the nearest LIC branch.” The statement said that claimants can also call LIC’s call centre at 022-68276827.
Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company has come forward to help
Meanwhile, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has also said that it has set up a dedicated claim settlement desk to prioritize the settlement of death and disability claims for its customers affected by the accident. Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance said in a statement that Bajaj Allianz has created a minimum documentation process to simplify the claim process.
