Railways have been the most economical and reliable mode of transport for the general public of the country. But if you also travel by train daily or from time to time, then this news is very important for you.
  • From July 1, 2025, some important rules of Railways are going to change, which will have a direct impact on the passengers. • Indian Railway New Rent: According to the new fare:
  • The fare in non-AC mail and express trains has now been fixed at Rs 1 per kilometer.
  • Passengers traveling in AC class will now have to pay at the rate of Rs 2 per kilometer.
  • However, a relief is that there has been no change in the rates of second class tickets and monthly season tickets (MST) for a distance of up to 500 km.

While booking Tatkal tickets, passengers will now have to authenticate their identity through OTP verification.

This OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and the booking process will be completed only after entering it.

This will curb ticket booking with fake IDs and honest passengers will get better facilities.

Indian Railway: Railways says that this step has been taken to increase the security and transparency of passengers. It will also ensure that every booking is in the name of a real and authenticated passenger.
