The government gave this answer-
The government or the RBI (RBI latest Update) has no intention of bringing notes larger than 500 in the market. This answer has been given by the Finance Ministry in response to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha regarding Indian currency. Apart from this, the issue of 2000 rupees (Rs 2000 note) notes was also raised in the Rajya Sabha.
The Finance Ministry has also clarified its stand on this. A long question was asked about 2000 notes (2000 rupees update). In this, many types of figures were also asked from the release of this note to its closure.

For many days, there has been talk among the common people including social media about the government launching notes larger than 500 rupees (Rs 500 Note). Finally, an MP raised this issue in the Rajya Sabha. On this issue, the Union Finance Ministry has clarified that the 500 rupee note will remain the largest note in the Indian currency. There is no plan or proposal to bring bigger notes in the market.
Update also came on 2000 rupee note-
It has been a long time since the Rs 2000 note was discontinued, however, this note can still be deposited with the RBI. When the Rs 2000 note was discontinued, the date for depositing it in banks (bank note update news) was also fixed.

When did the 2000 note come and when was it discontinued-

On this, the Minister of State for Finance said that after issuing in November 2016, this 2000 note (2000 note par update) was discontinued in May 2023 and it was announced to deposit it in banks.
Still not all notes have come to RBI-
A total of 17,793 lakh notes (2000 note update) of Rs 2000 worth crores were in circulation at that time. Out of these, more than 17,470 lakh notes have been returned. However, many 2000 notes have not reached RBI (RBI latest news).
Where to deposit 2000 note-
