It may rain in Delhi
On Wednesday, it rained in the evening in many parts of the national capital including South, Central and South-West Delhi. The Meteorological Department estimates that the period of cloudy rain may continue in Delhi on Thursday as well. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert. The maximum temperature in Delhi may remain one degree below average i.e. around 35 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature may remain 1.5 degrees below normal i.e. 26 degrees Celsius. Moderate rain may occur in Delhi today.
Monsoon may gain momentum in Rajasthan
The southwest monsoon is active in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department estimates that heavy rain activities may increase once again today i.e. on Thursday. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at many places in the state in the next few days. The Meteorological Department said that on Thursday, light to moderate rain may occur with thunderstorms at some places in Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur and Bikaner. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Bharatpur and surrounding areas. According to the department, there is a strong possibility of increase in heavy rainfall in eastern Rajasthan from July 10 and in western Rajasthan from July 12.
Heavy rain expected in many districts of Jharkhand
Schools have been asked to remain closed on Thursday due to the forecast of heavy rains in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the district. In view of the heavy rains, schools have been asked to conduct online classes so that there is no hindrance in studies. Due to continuous rains for the last two days, life in the district has been badly affected. At the same time, due to torrential rains, the water level of Kharkai and Swarnarekha rivers is also increasing.
Rain continues in Maharashtra
Heavy rain continues in many areas of Maharashtra. Flood conditions have occurred in many places due to rain. A young man died in two separate incidents related to heavy rain and flood in Nagpur district while another was swept away in the flood. 71 villages of the district have also lost contact. The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many areas including Nagpur and Wardha on Thursday.
