HDFC Bank FD Rate 2025: If you are also looking to earn a huge profit by making a fixed deposit in the bank in the near future, then this news may disappoint you. The country’s largest private bank HDFC Bank has announced to reduce the interest rates on FD for the second time in June.

The bank said that the new interest rates have come into effect from June 25, 2025. Earlier on June 10, 2025, the bank had reduced the interest rate on select FD tenures. This decision was taken after RBI’s repo rate cut by 50 basis points (from 6% to 5.5%).

How much interest rate is being received now?
For general customers, HDFC Bank has now reduced the interest rate on FDs of less than 15 months and more than 18 months from 6.60% to 6.35%. At the same time, for senior citizens, the FD rate for the same period has been reduced from 7.10% to 6.85%.

According to the official website of HDFC Bank, HDFC Bank offers its customers the facility of FD from 7 days to 10 years, on which customers are now going to get interest ranging from 2.75% to 6.60%. At the same time, senior citizens are getting interest ranging from 3.25% to 7.10%.

Interest on savings account also reduced
From June 24, 2025, HDFC Bank has cut 25 basis points on all savings account balances. Earlier, customers used to get 2.75% annual interest on savings account, which has now been reduced to 2.50%. This interest rate is applicable on the daily closing balance of your account and is paid on a quarterly basis.

Why did the bank cut interest rates
The main reason behind this change is the reduction in repo rate by RBI. When the central bank reduces the repo rate, it directly affects the cost of funds of banks. In such a situation, banks balance their costs by reducing interest on FD and savings account.
