UPI Credit Line: Now not only payments can be made at shops through UPI credit line, but also the feature of withdrawing cash, sending money to someone and making payments to small shopkeepers will be available.
UPI Credit Line Rules Change: Good news has come for crores of users using Unified Payment Interface i.e. UPI. From next month i.e. August 2025, the amount of the bank’s pre-approved credit line will also be easily used. Till now only purchase of goods was allowed. Actually, the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) had recently issued a circular. In this circular of NPCI, new rules have been told for linking the credit line.
Direct payment will be made from loan account
Under these new rules, now UPI users will be able to link fixed deposits, shares, bonds, property, gold or personal and business loan overdraft to Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and use it. Meaning, now through third party UPI applications like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, users will be able to make direct payment from their loan account.
NPCI issued new circular
According to the new circular of National Payment Corporation of India, now not only payments can be made at shops through credit line through UPI, but also the feature of withdrawing cash, sending money to someone and making payments to small shopkeepers will be available. Earlier, payment was made only at shops through credit line on UPI, but now loan overdraft can be used by linking it to UPI.
The facility will start from next month!
NPCI has directed all UPI member banks, payment service providers, credit line providing institutions and third-party app providers to make these changes effective by 31 August 2025. In such a situation, crores of UPI users will be able to take advantage of this facility from next month.
What is a credit line?
It is worth noting that a credit line is a type of loan. This loan is approved by a bank or any financial institution on the basis of your income and credit score. You can link the credit line account already approved by the bank to UPI and use it as per your needs and repay it later.
