FASTag Annual Pass Rules: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made an important announcement regarding FASTag toll. On Wednesday, he said that you can get a pass for FASTag toll. You can travel 200 trips by taking a pass of Rs 3000. For the 200 trips for which people had to pay 10 thousand toll, now they will have to save Rs 7000 and take a pass of Rs 3000. Of course, this pass is not compulsory. This pass will be for private cars only. There are many questions and confusions regarding this pass.

According to the information given by Nitin Gadkari, this pass will be valid only on highways and expressways under the national authority. It will not be valid on highways or expressways under the state. There are a total of 87 toll plazas in Maharashtra. However, this pass will be valid on 18 of them. Therefore, some people say that it will not be that beneficial in Maharashtra.

However, those who want to get this pass should understand some of the rules. With this Rs 3000, you can only make 200 trips. What happens after that, the common man may wonder. According to NHAI, this pass will be valid for one year or 200 trips. If a driver travels on the highway every day and completes his 200 trips within four months, then he will have to get a new ATP again. In this way, he can buy multiple ATPs in a year. There is no limit on buying ATP; a driver can get as many passes as he needs.

If a driver purchases an ATP, but does not complete 200 trips due to less travel on national highways or expressways, the money remaining in the ATP will not be refunded, nor will it be transferred to the next pass. The remaining amount remaining in the pass will be forfeited. Therefore, it will be mandatory for the driver to fully utilize the pass purchased. The validity of this pass will be exactly one year from the date of issue. After that, a new pass will have to be issued.

However, in Maharashtra, this pass will not be applicable on expressways, Atal Setu, Samruddhi Highway. This pass will not be applicable on any toll plazas or highways or expressways within the state. Therefore, it is a bit difficult for the citizens of Maharashtra to get this pass. However, it is mandatory to keep a minimum amount of Rs 200 for FASTag. If you do not travel that much in a year by sticking Rs 3000, then both your money and the pass can be wasted.

For example, if you complete 200 trips, you will have to pay or get a new pass. As of now, there is no government restriction on how many passes you can get in a year. So, you can get more than one pass.
