Employees Holidays: There is important news for the government employees of Haryana. The Naib Singh Saini government of the state has released the holiday calendar for the year 2025. A total of 160 days of holidays have been fixed in this, which also includes 52-52 Sundays and Saturdays. Some special days have also been notified by the state government. However, these will not be designated as public holidays.
According to the notification issued by the Haryana government, in the year 2025, there will be a holiday in government offices due to 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays and 25 gazetted holidays. All these holidays will be applicable in government offices. These include major religious events and national festivals. Apart from this, nine public holidays have been included in this list, some of which are given on regional festivals and special occasions. Apart from this, there are 14 restricted holidays, which employees can choose as per their choice. In government offices, these holidays are given to the employees for their personal needs.
When are the holidays from January to December
Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti on 6 January, Guru Ravidas Jayanti on 12 February, Mahashivratri on 26 February, Holi on 14 March, Eid-ul-Fitr on 31 March.
Mahavir Jayanti on 10 April, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April, Parshuram Jayanti on 29 April, Akshaya Tritiya on 30 April, Maharana Pratap Jayanti on 29 May.
Sant Kabir Jayanti on 11 June, Shaheed Udham Singh Balidan Diwas on 31 July, Independence Day on 15 August, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti on 22 September, Martyrdom Day/Haryana War Heroes Balidan Diwas on 23 September.
These include Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra on October 2, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Maharaja Ajmidh Jayanti on October 7, Diwali on October 20, Vishwakarma Day on October 22, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti on November 5 and Christmas on December 25.
List of public holidays
Festivals falling on Saturday and Sunday are not included in the list of public holidays. These include Republic Day on January 26, Basant Panchami/Sir Chhotu Ram Jayanti on February 2, Martyrdom Day/Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev Martyrdom Day on March 23.
Ramnavami on April 6, Vaisakhi/Chhath Puja on April 13, Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) on June 7, Rakshabandhan on August 9, Janmashtami on August 16 and Haryana Day on November 1.
14 restricted leaves, permission to take 3 optional leaves
All employees, including outsourced ones, will be allowed to take any three optional leaves. These include Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti on February 23 (with state level function), Good Friday on April 18, Buddha Purnima on May 12, Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti on May 24, Sri Guru Arjun Dev Martyrdom Day on May 30, Muharram on July 6, Hariyali Teej on July 27, Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad (Prophet Mohammad’s birth anniversary) on September 5, Karva Chauth on October 10, Govardhan Puja on October 22, Chhath Puja on October 28, Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day on November 25, Guru Brahmanand Jayanti on December 24 and Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti on December 26.
