DA Hike Update; Once again a big relief news is coming for the central employees. The government may soon announce a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA). This will directly benefit crores of central employees and pensioners. This increased DA can be implemented from next month i.e. July, which will prove to be a big gift for the employees.
Decision based on CPI-IW data
This increase in dearness allowance is decided on the basis of the data of All India Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW). In the last few months, there has been an increase in the retail inflation rate, which has a direct impact on DA calculation. Currently, central employees are getting 50% DA, and now after the increase of 3%, it will become 53%.
How many will benefit?
About 48 lakh central employees and 68 lakh pensioners will benefit from this decision. Every year the government revises DA twice in January and July. This time the benefit of increased DA will be given from July 2025. This will bring more salary in the hands of the employees, while pensioners will also get relief.
Salary and pension will increase
If the basic salary of an employee is ₹ 30,000, then according to the current 50% DA, he is getting ₹ 15,000 DA. After the 3% increase, it will become ₹ 16,200. That is, a total additional benefit of ₹ 1,200 will be available every month. Similarly, there will be an increase in pension as well, which will provide financial relief to elderly pensioners.
Discussion of 8th Pay Commission also
Along with the DA increase, now the discussion of 8th Pay Commission has also intensified. Many employee organizations are demanding from the government that the new pay commission should be implemented from January 2026 so that employees can get better protection from the impact of inflation.
This decision of the government is definitely a relief for central employees and pensioners. Along with the DA hike in July, a lump sum arrears can also be paid. If the inflation rate increases further in the coming time, then it is possible to increase the DA again.
