New Voter List: The Election Commission has released the draft voter list of Bihar after the special summary revision (SIR) of the voter list on Friday, August 1. A huge decrease in the number of voters has been seen in this new list. Earlier, there were a total of 7.89 crore voters in the state, which has come down to 7.24 crore after the SIR process. This means that the names of about 65.64 lakh voters have been deleted. According to the data, names have been deleted in large numbers in the districts of Seemanchal as well.
How many names deleted from Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar
Among these, 2.73 lakh voters in Purnia, 1.84 lakh in Katihar, 1.58 lakh in Araria and 1.45 lakh in Kishanganj have been deleted from the new voter list. The Election Commission has handed over copies of this new list to all recognized political parties. However, the Election Commission has clarified that if the name of any eligible voter has been deleted by mistake, he can apply to get his name added till September 1. New voters will also be able to get their names added during this period. The purpose of this process is to prepare a clean and error-free voter list.
