Patna Police: During vehicle checking late Wednesday night in Bihar’s capital Patna, a Scorpio driver ran over three policemen. A woman constable and two policemen were injured in this incident. The woman constable has died while the injured policemen are undergoing treatment.
This incident took place on Atal Path. After the incident, there was a stir in the area and police force was called to the spot from nearby police stations.
According to media reports, the police of SK Puri police station was checking the service lane of Atal Path at night. During this, a vehicle was stopped on the roadside and it was being checked. Then a Scorpio coming at high speed from Digha hit the policemen. The collision was so strong that the female policeman jumped and fell on the divider. While SI Deepak Kumar and ASI Awadhesh Kumar were also badly injured.
After the accident, female constable Komal was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead after examination. While the condition of the sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector is critical and they are undergoing treatment.
Police conducting raids in search of driver
Patna SSP Avkash Kumar said that two youths travelling in the Scorpio have been taken into custody while the driver of the car has fled. Police are continuously conducting raids in search of him. According to reports, there was a Bharatiya Janata Party flag on the Scorpio.
Along with searching for the car driver, the police is also trying to find out if the driver was drunk. Both the people taken into custody are being questioned. There is a wave of mourning in the entire police department due to this incident.
