Independence Day of the country is celebrated in the month of August. There will be many festivals in this month including Raksha Bandhan and Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Here we are telling you on which days the bank is closed this month. So that you can complete your work in advance and you do not have any problem at the last moment.
According to the list of bank holidays available on the RBI website, banks are going to be closed for a total of 15 days in different zones across the country in the month of August. Bank holidays in India are decided by the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India. Bank holidays are according to the zone. There are zones ranging from one to 3-4 in every state. In the zone where there is a holiday, all the banks in that area remain closed on that day.
Complete list of bank holidays in the month of August
1 – All banks in the country will remain closed on 3 August due to Sunday, but in Tripura, there will be a holiday on this day due to Ker Puja.
2 – Banks will remain closed on 8 August due to Tendong Lo Rum Fat in Sikkim and Odisha.
3 – Rakshabandhan holiday will be in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan on 9 August.
4 – Banks will remain closed on 13 August on the occasion of Patriotism Day in Manipur.
5 – Independence Day holiday will be in the whole country on 15 August.
6 – Banks will also remain closed in Gujarat and Maharashtra on 16 August due to Janmashtami and Parsi New Year.
7 – There will be a holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi in Karnataka and Kerala on 26 August.
8 – The second day of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Telangana on 27 August.
9 – After this, there will be a holiday on Nuakhai in Odisha, Punjab and Sikkim on 28 August.
10 – Apart from this, banks will remain closed across the country on 10 and 23 August due to second and fourth Saturday.
11 – There will also be no work in banks on every Sunday i.e. 10, 17, 24 and 31 August.
Digital work will continue during the holiday
Due to so many holidays, cash withdrawal, check clearing and other banking services will be affected. Therefore, customers are advised to finish their bank related work. However, digital banking services like mobile banking, internet banking, ATM etc. will remain operational as usual. Holidays may vary according to the state.
