Wednesday Bank Holiday: According to the RBI holiday list, banks will remain closed in many states on June 11 on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.

Wednesday Bank Holiday: The second week of June 2025 has started and this week also, according to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there will be 3 days of bank holidays in different parts of the country. Banks will remain closed in many states on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. If you also have any bank related work this week, then finish these works on time or else you may have to face inconvenience.

Banks will be closed for three days this week

  • 11 June 2025 (Wednesday) – Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti/Saga Dawa (Banks will remain closed in Sikkim (Gangtok) and Himachal Pradesh (Shimla) on this day. This banking holiday will be observed on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti and Saga Dawa)
  • 14 June 2025 (Saturday), Second Saturday – As per RBI rules, banks across the country remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
  • 15 June 2025 (Sunday), Weekly Holiday – All banks have regular weekly holiday on Sunday.

This holiday falls under the Negotiable Instruments Act category of RBI.

Kabir Jayanti, also known as Kabir Prakat Diwas, is celebrated in India to commemorate the appearance of Sant Kabir, a famous poet and mystic. It is celebrated once a year on the full moon day of the Hindu month Jyeshtha, which is the month of May or June according to the Gregorian calendar. Worshippers believe that Kabir was born on this day in 1398 AD. Kabir is said to have come from Satlok in the body of light and appeared on a lotus flower.
