Airport News: Imagine, you reach the airport and complete the security check quickly, without standing in long queues, without showing documents again and again. This dream can soon become a reality. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has prepared a roadmap to make air travel more secure, faster and passenger friendly. On this issue, a special workshop was organized at the Airport Sector Headquarters of CISF on 27 June 2025, in which a long discussion was held about this road map.
The Chief Security Officers of all 69 airports under the security purview of CISF participated in this workshop organized by CISF. Apart from this, officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Delhi Police, SPG, NSG, Bureau of Immigration also participated. Apart from this, officials of Delhi Airport Operator Delhi International Airport Limited, Air India Express and Indigo also participated in this workshop.
There will be a new experience for technology-equipped passengers
If you are one of those who want to save time and go with technology, then there is good news for you! The workshop talked about adopting technologies like biometric airport entry pass (AEP), CCTV with facial recognition and automatic number plate recognizer (ANPR) for vehicles. Apart from this, fast tag will also be integrated with the security system of airports. Soon, airport entry and security check will take less time. The queues will be shorter and you will reach your boarding gate quickly.
Smooth travel for regular and new passengers
Whether you travel by air every week or are stepping into the airport for the first time, your experience will now be much easier. In the workshop, there was talk of uniform training for security staff, airline staff and other staff. This means that you will get the same professional experience at every airport. This will reduce the confusion of passengers and make your journey smooth. There is also a plan to open new Aviation Security Training Institutes (ASTI) in small cities, so that there are uniform security standards in every corner of the country.
Increase in VIP security
If you are a VIP or are concerned about the safety of special guests, then there is good news for you too. In the workshop, there was an in-depth discussion on advanced VIP security protocols. There is a plan to further strengthen anti-drone technology and investigation of insider threats. Apart from this, now a layered protection strategy will be adopted at the airport, so that VIPs get the highest level of security, but the convenience of common passengers is not affected.
Complaints will be resolved immediately
Have you ever had any problem at the airport and received a late response to your complaint? Now this will not happen! In the workshop, there was talk of completely improving the passenger complaint redressal system. All stakeholders agreed that passenger complaints will be dealt with immediately, sensitively and proactively. By using a platform like AirSewa, your complaints will be resolved quickly, and the behavior of the staff will also be more sympathetic.
Safe future will be created with cooperation
CISF Special Director General Praveer Ranjan said that this workshop was organized at the right time, as the recent geopolitical changes have posed new challenges for aviation security. He stressed the need for continuous cooperation and exchange of information between all agencies. At the same time, IG Vijay Prakash of the Airport Sector said that with seamless coordination, intelligence and technical integration, we will always be one step ahead of the threats.
At the same time, DGCA Faiz Ahmed Kidwai said that everyone has to work together to ensure security and passenger convenience together. At the end of the workshop, IG Airport Sector Jose Mohan stressed that standardization of aviation security is possible only if we remain committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
