Paytm FASTag: After demonetization in 2016, Paytm had become a part of life. People used Paytm extensively for everything from small and big payments to Fastag. Let us tell you that RBI has stopped Paytm company from taking any new top-up or deposit on behalf of any customer after February 29, which also includes wallets, Fastag. According to a report in news agency Bhasha, the RBI on January 31 ordered that PPBL will have to stop accepting deposits or ‘top-up’ customers’ accounts, wallets, Fastag and other products after February 29. Customers are allowed to use the balance from other accounts including savings bank account, current account, prepaid products, Fastag and ‘National Common Mobility Card’ till the availability of balance.
What will happen to Paytm Fastag?
If you have Paytm Fastag then you should understand that Fastag has not been banned. This ban is on depositing new payments by customers. In such a situation, those who have Fastag will continue to work as long as they have balance. There is no restriction of date (till 29th February).
What to do if you want to de-activate Fastag?
Since RBI has taken strict action on Paytm, there is a feeling among some users that what will happen if Fastag itself is banned? In such a situation, they are looking for ways to de-activate it. Can port also be Fastag?
Many big banks also provide Fastag. These include HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, ICII Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Equitas Fastag Recharge, Federal Bank, IDBI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, South Indian Bank. . The question is whether an individual user can port Fastag? So the answer is yes. You can get your Paytm Fastag ported to another bank. In such a situation, if you are afraid that Paytm Fastag will be banned, then you also have the option of porting it. For port you have to follow the following steps-
- To Port Fastag From Paytm To Another Bank, First Call The Customer Care Of The Bank Where You Want To Port It.
- Provide Complete Information To The Customer Care Representative, Which Will Include Your Port Number, Name Etc.
- After Some Time Your Fastag Will Be Ported To Another Bank.
