Buses will soon operate on many other routes including Patna to Ranchi and Deoghar, Chhapra to Gorakhpur, Gaya to Tata, Bokaro and Dhanbad. Bihar State Road Transport Corporation has started work on this.
121 buses will run from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. 61 routes have been selected for this. Along with this, there is a plan to run passenger buses on 19 inter-regional routes within Bihar. 25 buses will run on these routes within the state. These buses will be run on PPP mode. People of Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Chhapra, Motihari and other districts will get the facility of interstate transport.
Recently, the Transport Department had started efforts to operate passenger vehicles on the routes of UP and Jharkhand. After this, 61 routes of both the states were identified. Keeping in mind the needs of the passengers in the survey, it was decided to operate at least 121 buses. Bihar State Road Transport Corporation has planned to run these buses in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Applications will be invited soon in this regard.
Actually, the state government is busy in rescheduling the operation of vehicles on various routes of the state. This initiative of the department will not only fulfill the needs of the common people but will also stop illegal operations. Not only this, arbitrary fare collection can be banned. Recently, the Transport Department has started work on a plan to regulate the operation of vehicles on 190 routes. The department had also sought proposals for operating vehicles on these routes.
