Organizations across the country will protest at Jantar Mantar on January 3 in protest against this law. Actually, the ‘Hit and Run’ law is being changed by the Central Government to control road accidents. Drivers are protesting against this. The wheels of trucks and buses stopped due to the drivers’ strike.
In Bihar, except a few vehicles, long distance goods and passenger buses did not run on NH and SH. There was silence in Patna’s Bairia bus stand. Due to stoppage of bus operations from the terminal, passengers faced great inconvenience.
At the same time, passengers kept wandering due to non-operation of buses for Siwan, Chhapra, Motihari, Bettiah, Kushinagar, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Delhi, Siliguri, Tata, Ranchi and other places. Transporters and businessmen also suffered losses due to truck drivers being on strike on the call of All India Truck Drivers Organization. Drivers protested by blocking roads at many places in many districts. The strike had a widespread impact on the rural areas of Patna, Patna-Gaya, Bihta-Sarmera and Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four lane.
Passenger service came to a complete standstill in Nawada. The wheels of buses going from Nawada to Patna, Gaya, Jamui, many districts of Jharkhand and Kolkata stopped. A huge crowd was seen in the trains. However, till now the situation at the petrol pump remains normal. In Begusarai, there was a traffic jam on NH-31 and NH-28 for about seven hours on Monday. Sasaram-Chausa road was blocked. Not a single truck bringing fruits and vegetables reached Hajipur.
