The government has increased the price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder by ₹16, effective today. The price of a 14-kilogram domestic cylinder remains unchanged. A 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost ₹1595.50, up from ₹1580 previously.
It’s a matter of relief that the government has not made any changes to the price of domestic LPG cylinders. In most cities across the country, the price of cooking gas ranges between ₹850 and ₹960. Currently, a domestic LPG cylinder is available in Delhi for ₹853, in Mumbai for ₹852.50, in Lucknow for ₹890.50, in Ahmedabad for ₹860, in Hyderabad for ₹905, in Varanasi for ₹916.50, and in Patna for ₹951.
New Rate for 19-Kg Cylinder
Following the price hike by oil marketing companies, the price of a 19-kilogram cylinder in Delhi has now become ₹1595.50, up from ₹1580 previously. In Kolkata, the cylinder will now be available for ₹1700, up from ₹1684 previously. In Mumbai, it will be available for ₹1547, up from ₹1531.50 previously. In Chennai, the cylinder now costs ₹1754, up from ₹1738 in September. There has also been an increase of ₹16 here.
Women to Get Free Cylinders
Under the Ujjwala Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced free LPG cylinders to 18.5 million women in the state before Diwali. The central government has also announced 2.5 million new Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala connections during Navratri. This will increase the number of Ujjwala gas connections nationwide to 106 million.
