State Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkar has issued a statement saying that during the verification it was found that people are taking advantage of the scheme despite being ineligible. In such a situation, the state government has removed 26.34 lakh ineligible people from the scheme. Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana
Under this scheme, eligible women between 21 and 65 years of age in Maharashtra are provided financial assistance of Rs 1,500 every month. Aditi Tatkar said on the social media platform X that investigation revealed that some beneficiaries were taking advantage of multiple schemes. Some families had more than two beneficiaries. In some cases, even men had applied for this scheme.
She further said that the Department of Women and Child Development had sought information from all government departments to check the eligibility of all applications. The Information and Technology Department said that about 26.34 lakh beneficiaries are taking advantage of this scheme despite being ineligible.
How many accounts were suspended
According to the news published in Economic Times, the accounts of 26.34 lakh ineligible people have been temporarily suspended. Apart from this, about 2.25 crore eligible beneficiaries have received the installment of June 2025.
District officers will investigate
The accounts of those whose accounts have been suspended will be investigated by the District Officer of the concerned district. If found eligible in the verification, then the suspended account will start getting benefits again. At the same time, it is being said that the state government can take strict action against those who take advantage by giving wrong information.
Who will get the benefit of Mukhyamantri Ladki Behan Yojana
1 – This scheme has been implemented only for women aged between 21 years to 65 years.
2 – To take advantage of this scheme, women should be residents of Maharashtra.
3 – To join this scheme, one has to apply online.
4 – All married, unmarried, divorced women can take advantage of this scheme.
5 – To take advantage of the scheme, it is very important for women to have an account in any bank. At the same time, the annual income of the woman’s family should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
6 – This scheme is not applicable to those women who are taking advantage of any other government scheme.
These documents will be required
Aadhar card, identity card, bank account, caste certificate, residence certificate, age verification certificate, ration card, passport size photo, income certificate, birth certificate and voter ID are required to avail the benefits of this scheme.
These people do not get the benefit of Ladki Behan Yojana
Families whose income is more than Rs 2.50 lakh. In such a situation, people cannot apply. On the other hand, if there are people in the family who file income tax, then they are also not eligible for the scheme. On the other hand, if any member of the family is an employee of the state government or central government, then such people cannot apply. Families who have four wheelers except tractors. Such people cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.
