Bihar Flood: According to Patna Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of rain in entire Bihar in the next three days. The water level of river Ganga has reached near the danger mark. Flood like conditions have arisen in many areas. Common people should be cautious in view of the bad weather.
Rain and thunderstorm alert has been issued in all the districts of Bihar. Out of this, orange alert has been issued in 20 districts and yellow alert in 18 districts. The Meteorological Center has issued an alert of moderate rain and thunderstorm in Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Patna, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Lakhisarai, Munger, Buxar, Kaimur.
Here, people have been troubled due to rain in many areas including Patna for the last two days. People are facing a lot of problems due to waterlogging in schools, hospitals, railway stations, roads. People say that many areas of the capital have been flooded due to continuous rain. We have been imprisoned in our homes. The rain has exposed the Patna Municipal Corporation.
Situation bad due to rain in these areas of Patna
Due to about 155 mm of rain till Sunday and Monday, 118 areas of Patna got waterlogged. Knee-deep water has come in many areas including Patna Junction, Hathua Market, Khetan Market, Rajendra Nagar, Kankarbagh, Gardanibagh, New Market, Rajiv Nagar, AG Colony, Krishi Nagar, Shastrinagar, Gola Road, Boring Road, Kadamkuan. Not only this, waist-deep water has filled near the private residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha.
Vishal Singh, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, said that the Municipal Corporation had not made full preparations before the rain. This situation happened due to lack of drainage system. In 2019, the whole of Patna was submerged. This time the situation is like 2019. There is also a danger to life and property due to open drain covers at many places. At the same time, children and teachers had to face a lot of trouble due to rainwater filling in the government school of Gardanibagh.
Rainwater entered the hospital in Nawada, patients troubled
Continuous rain exposed the preparations of Nawada Municipal Council. Just a few hours of rain submerged the entire city. From the main roads of the city to government institutions, religious places and residential areas, waterlogging has increased the problems of the people. After the rain, dozens of localities like VIP Colony, Harishchandra Stadium, Station Road, Kadamkuan Chowk, Vijay Bazaar, Main Road, Saheb Kothi Road, Bhadouni, Gondapur, Dobhra Par, Mirzapur and Shivnagar have been flooded. The most worrying situation is that of Sadar Hospital. Water has entered the wards here, due to which patients and staff are facing a lot of trouble. X-ray room, registration counter and medicine distribution center have also been submerged. Patients and their relatives had to complete the treatment process by standing in dirty water. There is a serious danger of spreading infection due to the dirt that came along with the water.
Heavy rain expected for next six days
According to the Meteorological Department, moderate rain is expected in different parts of Bihar and heavy rain in some places for the next four to six days. Heavy rain has occurred in many areas of Bihar in the last 24 hours. Many districts including Patna, Nawada, Begusarai, Gaya, Vaishali and Muzaffarpur have received more than eight cm of rain. This has caused waterlogging problem in many places. On the other hand, Patna Municipal Corporation has said that our team is continuously working for drainage. Wherever there is a problem of waterlogging, it is being resolved as soon as possible.
