HDFC bank Rule change From 1 July- If you have an account with HDFC Bank or have their credit card, this news is important for you. From July 1, the rules of this bank will also change like ICICI Bank. There is important news for the bank’s crores of credit card holders.
From July 1, 2025, there will be a big change in the rules of card usage, and additional charges have been imposed on some transactions. Therefore, it is essential to plan your expenses properly before using the card, otherwise it will be considered as a budget mess.
According to the new rules, if you spend more than Rs 10,000 per month on skill-based gaming platforms like Dream11, MPL, Rummy Culture, Junglee Games, then a 1 percent fee will be charged. This will be capped at Rs 4,999 and no reward points will be given on these transactions. The earlier facility of earning reward points has been discontinued.
A one percent fee will also be charged for transfers exceeding Rs 10,000 per month to third-party wallets like Paytm, Mobikwik, Ola Money, Freecharge. The maximum fee limit will remain the same in this case too. In the case of utility bills, if the customer is a cardholder and pays more than Rs 50,000 per month, or crosses the Rs 75,000 mark on a business card, then a one percent fee will also be charged on it. However, no fee will be applicable while paying insurance premium.
The rules have also changed for paying rent, fuel purchases and tuition fees. There will be a 1% fee if you pay tuition fees through third-party apps, but a discount will be available if you pay directly from the college or school website. Fuel transactions will also now be subject to a fee based on the amount.
In addition, some cards will offer reward points for insurance payments, but there will be a cap on it. This is not limited to the Marriott Bonvoy card. Customers should consider these changes and plan their spending before July, otherwise there is a possibility of missing out on unnecessary fees and rewards.
