These members will benefit
According to the new rules, it will benefit those employees who do not have Aadhaar card. Actually, employees of these categories have been given the exemption to easily link their Universal Account Number (UAN) to Aadhaar even without Aadhaar card. EPFO has given exemption to registered international employees.
These are the employees who used to work in India for some time, but later they went to their country. Since they were not Indians, they do not have an Aadhaar Card. According to the new rule of EPFO, former Indian citizens who went abroad such as citizens of Nepal and Bhutan will benefit from this rule.
These documents will be required
Registered international employees can claim PF through several documents. They can use verification documents – passport, citizen certificate or any official ID proof. Apart from this, verification will also be done through PAN card, bank account statement. For claims of more than Rs 5 lakh, the member will also have to get verification from the employer.
As per the EPFO claim rules, any claim request will first be carefully scrutinized by the officer. After this, the e-office file will be approved by the Approval Officer-in-Charge (OIC). Only after this approval, the claim process will be taken forward.
EPFO also advises the employee to always keep the same UAN number. This makes it easier to track the previous service record and get the claim.
