New Delhi. A new month i.e. July 2025 has started from today. This month has also brought some changes with it. From today, some new financial rules are going to be implemented, which can have a direct impact on your pocket. These include rules related to PAN card, banking, railway ticket booking, ATM and credit card. In such a situation, it is very important for you to know what changes have happened from today.

From today, the price of railway tickets has increased. Now the price of both AC and non-AC tickets has been increased marginally. The fare of non-AC class has been increased by 1 paisa per kilometer and that of AC class by 2 paisa per kilometer. Apart from this, the number of waiting tickets has been restricted. Waiting tickets will not be issued for more than 25 percent of the total number of seats in each class.

Aadhaar is mandatory for Tatkal tickets

From today, only those people can book Tatkal tickets whose IRCTC account is linked to Aadhaar. From July 15, it will be mandatory to enter the OTP received on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar while booking tickets. If the OTP is not entered, the ticket will not be booked. Agents will no longer be able to book tickets for 30 minutes before the Tatkal booking starts.

Aadhaar is mandatory for PAN card

Now it has become mandatory to have an Aadhaar card to get a PAN card. This rule has also come into effect from today. Earlier you could apply for a PAN card through any valid document or birth certificate.

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) had announced on June 7, 2025 that the monthly GST payment form GSTR-3B will not be editable from July 2025. This change has also come into effect from today. GSTN had said that taxpayers will not be allowed to file GST returns after the expiry of a period of three years from the due date.

New credit card rules

From July 1, the rules related to HDFC Bank’s credit card will also change. People will have to pay 1 percent charge for making HDFC credit card payment through third party app. At the same time, there will be a charge on utility bill payment as well. If users use this card for more than 10 thousand rupees in a month on platforms like Dream11, Rummy Culture, MPL and Junglee Games, then a levy of 1 percent will be imposed. If a person uploads more than 10 thousand rupees in a month on digital wallets like PayTM, Mobikwik, Freecharge or Ola Money, then an additional fee of 1 percent will be charged on that excess amount.

Withdrawing money from ATM will be expensive

From July 1, the rules related to ICICI Bank’s ATM are also going to change. Now it may become costly for the customers to use the ATM of this bank. According to the new rules, a charge of Rs 23 will be levied per transaction for withdrawing cash more than the limit. At the same time, there will be 5 free transactions in ATM. In metro cities, this limit will be 3 transactions. If you only check the balance or do non-financial work, then a fee of Rs 8.5 will be levied per transaction.
