Inauguration of historical bridge in Bihar
Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen has informed that June 23 will prove to be an important milestone for the residents of Raghopur Diara. The people of Raghopur, who were away from Patna for many years, will now be able to reach Patna in just 5 minutes through this new bridge. Nitin Naveen praised the Chief Minister’s foresight and thanked him for the construction of this bridge. People who have been dependent on boats and pontoon bridges for decades will now be able to connect directly to the capital by road.
Preparations for the inauguration
The minister said that the chief minister will inaugurate the first phase of the project on Monday, which includes the section from Kacchi Dargah to Raghopur on NH-31. This section is fully ready, while the remaining work from Raghopur to Bidupur is in the final stage, which will be completed in the next three months. With the inauguration, traffic will start from Kacchi Dargah to Raghopur. Apart from this, the construction of a connecting road at a cost of Rs 17 crore to connect the main road of Raghopur will also start soon.
End of the Boat and Pipa Bridge
The road construction minister said that this bridge will be the first permanent bridge connecting Raghopur to Patna. Now the local people will not have to depend on pontoon bridge or boats during monsoon. Every year when the pontoon bridge was removed during the rains, this area was completely cut off from other states. But the construction of this bridge will make uninterrupted traffic possible throughout the year, which will bring significant changes in the social and economic life of Raghopur Diara.
Financial aspect of the project
The minister said that in this 19 km long project, 9.76 km is the extra cable stay bridge over the river Ganga. Its width is 32 meters and it has been designed to handle a speed of 100 km per hour. A loan of Rs 3000 crore has been taken from the Asian Development Bank for the construction of the bridge, while the state government is spending about Rs 2000 crore.
Features of the bridge
Nitin Naveen said that the specialty of the Extra Dose Cable Bridge is that the cables are not attached directly to the tower, but are attached in a special way from one point to another under the deck. This not only makes its structure modern, but its strength has also increased manifold. This construction technique has been used in only a few bridges in India.

The minister said that with the opening of this bridge, the traffic pressure on Mahatma Gandhi Setu will be reduced. Along with this, better and faster road connectivity will be established between Bidupur, Raghopur and Patna. The government’s target is to connect the capital Patna to any corner of the state in just three and a half hours by the year 2027, in which this bridge will play an important role.
