Rule Change: New rules of UPI will come into effect from August 1, 2025. If you make payments daily through Paytm PhonePe, GPay or any other UPI app, then it is important for you to know about these changes. NPCI has set limits at many places, so that the pressure on the system is reduced and major problems like transaction failure or delay are reduced.

Rule Change: Like every month, many changes are going to happen in the month of August 2025, this can have a direct impact on the pocket of the common man. From August 1, 2025, some rules related to UPI are going to change in the country. In such a situation, those who make payments every day through apps like PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm need to pay attention.

National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI is preparing to implement many new rules to make UPI faster, safer and reliable. Along with this, there may be a change in the price of credit card, LPG.

The meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (RBI MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is also going to be held in the month of August. This meeting will start on August 4 and end on August 6. In this meeting, Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra will announce the decision of the panel regarding interest rates.

1 – Changes in UPI rules

From August 1, 2025, many new rules are going to be implemented for UPI users, which will make digital payments more safe and streamlined. In such a situation, if you use third party UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe or GPay, then now you will be able to check the balance only 50 times a day. At the same time, now all users will be able to check the bank accounts linked to their phone number on any one app a maximum of 25 times a day.

These limits have been brought so that there is no unnecessary load on the system, which often slows down the speed or fails transactions. AutoPay transactions like Netflix or mutual fund installments will now be processed in only 3 time slots. Before 10 am, 1 pm to 5 pm and after 9.30 pm.

2 – Changes in credit card

If you are an SBI card holder, then you may get a big shock. From August 11, SBI has announced to discontinue the free air accident insurance cover available on many co-branded credit cards. Till now, SBI used to provide cover of Rs 1 crore or Rs 50 lakh on some ELITE and PRIME cards in collaboration with UCO Bank, Central Bank, PSB, Karur Vysya Bank, Allahabad Bank.

3 – LPG prices

Like every month, changes in the prices of LPG cylinders can be seen on August 1, 2025 as well. By the way, on July 1, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder was reduced by Rs 60. However, there was no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders in July. But now it is expected that from August 1, there may be relief in the price of domestic LPG cylinders as well. If this happens, then the impact of inflation on the pockets of the general public may be reduced a bit.

4 – Change in the price of CNG and PNG

It is often seen that oil companies change the price of CNG and PNG on the 1st. However, there has been no change in it since the month of April. The last change in the price of CNG and PNG was on 9th April. At that time, CNG in Mumbai was ₹ 79.50 / kg and PNG was ₹ 49 / unit. This increase was done for the fourth time in six months.

5 – ATF prices may change

Like every month, the price of Air Turbine Fuel (ATF) i.e. aviation fuel may change in the month of August as well. Oil marketing companies change the price of ATF along with LPG on the first of every month. Air tickets may become expensive if the price of ATF increases, whereas there may be relief in fares if it decreases.
