New Rules from 1 July 2025: Every month, many small and big rules are changing. Many rules are going to change from July 1. From July 1, new rules are being implemented from instant ticket booking, PAN card making to credit card bill payment. This will directly affect the pocket of the common man. Let’s know what changes are going to happen for the common man from July 1.

Tatkal Ticket Booking Rules: The rules for Tatkal ticket booking are changing from July 1. IRCTC has made full preparations for this. According to CMI SK Thakur, OTP authentication will be required for Tatkal tickets purchased through IRCTC’s official website and mobile app. Your ticket will be booked only after the OTP received on your mobile is fed into the system.

New rules for credit card bill payments: Some rules of government and private banks are going to change. In this regard, ICICI Bank has changed the service charges on some transactions. The bank has changed the terms and conditions related to its credit cards.

New charges on online gaming and wallets: HDFC Bank has changed its credit card rules. As per the new rules, HDFC will charge an additional 1% charge if you spend more than Rs 10,000 per month on gaming apps like Dream11, MPL, Rummy Culture using a credit card. If a customer loads more than Rs 10,000 per month in a third-party wallet (like Paytm, MobiKwik, FreeCharge, Ola Money), then a 1% charge will also be levied on it.

Utility Bills to be Charged as Well: Banks will also be charging charges on utility bills. An additional 1% charge will be levied on utility bills (electricity, water, gas, etc.) exceeding Rs 50,000 per month using HDFC credit cards. At the same time, 1% charge will be levied on transactions exceeding Rs 15,000 for fuel.

New rules for credit card bill payments: The Reserve Bank of India will implement new rules related to credit cards from July 1. The new rule, which requires all credit card payments to be modified through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), will impact major fintech platforms like PhonePe, Credit, BillDesk and Infibeam Avenues. From July 1, all credit card payments will be made through BBPS. So far, only eight banks have activated bill payments on BBPS.

ATM transaction charges: ICICI will charge customers for withdrawing money from ATMs. If you use another bank’s ATM more than three times, you will have to pay Rs 23 on financial transactions and Rs 8.5 on non-financial transactions.

Aadhaar is now required to get a PAN card: If you do not have a PAN card and want to get a PAN, then it will now be mandatory to provide Aadhaar card for this. CBDT has said that from July 1, 2025, Aadhaar card will be required for new PAN cards. On the other hand, those who have both PAN and Aadhaar, they must link both these cards. Existing PAN holders have time till December 31, 2025 to link Aadhaar without incurring any penalty.
