The government gives special exemptions to women. Women get exemptions from government offices to government work. Although exemption has already been given for registering property in the name of women. But now another new announcement has been made by the government.
If you are from Uttar Pradesh state and you are thinking of getting the property registered in the name of a woman, then now there is a great news for you. Actually, now there will be a discount of ₹ 100000 on the registration of property worth one crore rupees from the Uttar Pradesh government. The state government has said that women will be given one percent discount in stamp duty on the registration of property worth one crore rupees. In this regard, a notification has been issued by Principal Secretary Stamp and Registration Amit Gupta on Tuesday. For the last 19 years, women were getting only one percent discount on property worth a maximum of 10 lakh rupees. Due to which a maximum of ₹ 10000 was being saved.
Decision taken in the cabinet meeting of the Chief Minister
Let us tell you that during the cabinet meeting held on 22 July under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it was decided to give one percent exemption in stamp duty to women on property up to one crore rupees. On 23 February 2006, in the then SP government, a system of giving one percent exemption in stamp duty on registration of property up to Rs 10 lakh in the name of women was implemented.
It was told that the property price has increased rapidly during the last two decades, therefore, to promote women empowerment and their participation in property, the Yogi government has decided to increase the limit of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
While from Wednesday, on registering property in the name of women, a discount of up to ₹ 100000 instead of a maximum of ₹ 100000 will be available. Minister of State for Stamp and Registration Ravindra Jaiswal says that now the one percent stamp duty exemption on property worth Rs 1 crore will increase property ownership in favor of women, which will also promote their social respect and economic financial independence.
