If you are unable to view your PF balance due to technical glitches on the Umang app, don’t panic. EPFO has provided 33 very easy options like Passbook Portal, SMS and Missed Call.

There are many ways to check EPFO balance. Checking the balance through the Umang app is the easiest way. But currently people cannot see the amount deposited in their account through the Umang app. A message is coming on the Umang app which says that due to a technical glitch, the passbook cannot be displayed at the moment.

If you are unable to view your PF passbook through the Umang app, don’t panic. Apart from this, you have many ways through which you can check your PF balance. These methods are as easy and simple as checking your balance through the Umang app. So, let’s take you through them one by one.

How to check PF balance from Passbook portal

  • EPFO registered employees can check their passbook online.
  • For this, go to passbook.epfindia.gov.in.
  • Login there by entering your UAN number, password and captcha code.
  • After this, go to the “View” tab and click on the “View Passbook” option.
  • Here you will find complete information about your contributions and balance. Please note that the passbook is updated only after at least 6 hours of activating the UAN or changing the password. This service is not for employees who come under private PF trusts (open establishments).

This way you will get balance information through SMS.

  • If you want, you can also get PF balance and contribution information through EPFO’s SMS service.
  • For this, send an SMS from your registered mobile number: EPFOHO UAN ENG
  • (Here you can enter the code of your preferred language instead of ENG, such as HIN for Hindi, TAM for Tamil).
  • Send this SMS to 7738299899.
  • In a few moments, you will receive an SMS from EPFO, which will contain information about your balance and last contribution.
  • To use the SMS service, your UAN must be linked to Aadhaar, PAN or bank account and the mobile number must be registered with EPFO.

Know PF balance through missed call

  • If you do not have internet, you can also check the balance by giving a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
  • In a short while, an SMS will arrive on your mobile, containing information about the PF balance and last contribution.
  • For this too, the UAN number must be linked to Aadhaar, PAN or bank.

What to do if your company has created a private PF trust?

If your company manages PF through a private trust instead of EPFO (open establishment), then your data will not be available on the EPFO portal. In such a case, you will have to contact your company’s HR department.
