वित्त राज्य मंत्री ने इन 11.48 करोड़ पैन धारकों को दी बड़ी अपडेट, नहीं मिलेंगे ये लाभ

New Delhi. Despite the passage of the last date, a large number of PANs have not yet been linked to Aadhaar. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary told the Lok Sabha in response to a written question on Monday that till January 29, 2024, there are 11.48 crore PANs which are not linked to Aadhaar.

Rs 601.97 crore received as fine

The Minister of State for Finance said that till now the government has received Rs 601.97 crore as fine from those who delayed linking PAN with Aadhaar. The Minister of State for Finance said that the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar was June 30, 2023. From July 1, 2023, Rs 1,000 will be charged as fine from those linking PAN with Aadhaar.

These benefits will not be available if PAN is not linked to Aadhaar.

The government has made it mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar to continue all types of financial services. The Income Tax Department had said that those taxpayers who fail to link their PAN with Aadhaar by June 30, 2023, their PAN will become inoperative from July 1, 2023.

No income tax refund will be issued to such PAN holders. Also, TDS and TCS will be deducted at higher rates from such taxpayers. The department said that PAN can be reactivated by paying a late fee of Rs 1,000.

14,597 cases of GST evasion reported

In response to another question, Pankaj Choudhary said that the central authorities have detected 14,597 cases of GST evasion during April-December 2023. Of these, maximum 2,716 cases have been found in Maharashtra. Gujarat stood second with 2,589 cases, Haryana third with 1,123 cases and Bengal fourth with 1,098 cases.
