ICC Test Rankings: After the second Test match of the India vs England five-match series, some major changes have been seen in the ICC Test Bowling, Test Batting and Test All-rounder Rankings.
Jasprit Bumrah, who played in England’s band in the Visakhapatnam Test match, has become the number-1 Test bowler. For the first time, a fast bowler from India has become the number-1 Test bowler. Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah has also become the only bowler who has achieved the number-1 position in all three formats, no one else has been able to do this before him.
Earlier, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Bishan Singh Bedi have become the number-1 bowlers in Tests for India, but all three are spinners. Bumrah took a total of 9 wickets in the Visakhapatnam Test, in which he took a total of six wickets in the first innings. Bumrah got the benefit of this strong bowling in the ranking also. Bumrah has become the number-1 Test bowler with 881 rating points, while South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada is at the second position with 851 rating points. At third place is R Ashwin, who has 841 rating points in his account.

R Ashwin suffered an average performance in the Visakhapatnam Test and dropped two places, while Bumrah gained three places. Australian captain Pat Cummins is at number four, while Josh Hazlewood of Australia is at number five. Sri Lankan bowler Prabhat Jayasuriya got the benefit of good bowling in the only Test match against Afghanistan and he has jumped three places to sixth position. James Anderson, Nathan Lyon, Ravindra Jadeja and Ollie Robinson are at seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th positions respectively.
Ravindra Jadeja did not play the second test match due to injury and due to this he had to suffer a loss of two places in the ranking. Talking about ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings, Kane Williamson is at number 1 position. With the gain of one place, Steve Smith has come to second place.
Joe Root has slipped to third place. Virat Kohli suffered a loss in the rankings and has slipped to seventh place. Darrell Mitchell, Babar Azam and Usman Khawaja are at fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively. Rohit Sharma lost one place and slipped to 13th position.
Ravindra Jadeja remains on top in the ICC Men’s Test All-Rounders Ranking. Ben Stokes gained one place and has come to fourth position. R Ashwin remains at second position while Shakib Al Hasan remains at third position. Joe Root has dropped two places and reached sixth place.
