Now the government has taken a big decision for the convenience of migrant Biharis returning home during festivals. Nitish Kumar has given information about this by posting on X on Thursday.
The Chief Minister has written in his post that people of Bihar come home in large numbers from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal on the occasion of various festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Deepawali and Durga Puja. People have to face a lot of difficulties in coming to Bihar on the occasion of festivals.
Our government is constantly making efforts to facilitate the travel of people coming to Bihar and for their convenience. In this episode, the state government is going to operate 299 AC and non-AC buses on the interstate routes connected to Bihar. It has been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 24 June 2025.
The state government will spend Rs 105.82 crore on the purchase of 75 air-conditioned and 74 deluxe buses. Apart from this, 150 additional AC buses will also be operated under public private partnership.
The state government will also request the central government to run more special trains on the occasion of festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Diwali and Durga Puja.
This will make it easier for people to come to Bihar during festivals and they will be able to reach their homes comfortably. This decision of the government will provide a lot of convenience to people in commuting.
