Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Bihar Chief Minister Women’s Employment Scheme via video conference on Friday. The Prime Minister’s Office said that under this scheme, Mr. Modi will transfer Rs. 7,500 crore in ten thousand rupees directly to the bank accounts of 7.5 million women in Bihar.
7.5 million women in Bihar will receive ₹10,000 each in their bank accounts today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Bihar’s “Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme” on Friday. A total of ₹7,500 crore will be distributed under this scheme. Prime Minister Modi will participate in the event via video conference.
Efforts to Make Women Self-Reliant
Officials stated that the scheme aims to empower women through self-employment and employment opportunities. They stated that the scheme is universal in nature, providing financial assistance to one woman from each family in the state to enable them to start a career of their choice.
Government Assistance Up to ₹2 Lakh
Officials also stated that an initial amount of ₹10,000 will be provided, with additional financial assistance of up to ₹2 lakh expected in the next phase. This assistance can be used in the beneficiary’s chosen fields, including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, sewing, and other small-scale enterprises.
The government will also provide employment training.
Officials said the scheme will be based on community participation, and experts associated with self-help groups will provide training to help them succeed in their efforts. In addition to financial assistance, community resource persons associated with self-help groups will provide training to support their efforts. Rural haat-bazaars will be further developed in the state to promote the sale of their produce.
Programs will be held from district to village.
Officials said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) governments, both at the center and in Bihar, have launched several development and welfare schemes in anticipation of the upcoming elections in the state, as the ruling coalition strives to retain power. To mark the launch of the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, a statewide program will be conducted at the district, block, cluster, and village levels, involving over 10 million women. It should be noted that Bihar is scheduled to hold assembly elections this year.
