Wheat sowing is going to start in many states of the country in a few days. In such a situation, the Bihar government has decided to increase the support price of wheat. Let us tell you that the government has increased the support price of wheat by Rs 150. This year it is an increase of Rs 150 as compared to last year, which will be applicable in the 2025-26 season. This will be the next Rabi season in which farmers will be able to sell their wheat.

Now after the increased support price, farmers will be able to sell their wheat at the rate of Rs 2425 per quintal. Wheat will be purchased from farmers at government procurement centers. The government has appealed to the farmers to sow as much wheat as possible to get more benefit of the support price. Farmers will have to register first for wheat sale.

The Bihar government says that farmers will have to register on the government portal for wheat sale. The total area of Rabi crops in Bihar is about 40 lakh hectares, in which wheat is sown in 26 lakh hectares. That is, wheat is cultivated in more than 50 percent of the areas. In such a situation, farmers can easily take advantage of the government’s support price scheme i.e. MSP. But for this they will have to register on the DBT portal of the Agriculture Department.

Why is registration on the portal necessary?

By registering on the DBT portal, farmers can sell wheat at the nearest government wheat procurement center at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2425 per quintal and get payment directly in their bank account within 48 hours. The Bihar government says that FCI will set up adequate wheat procurement centers in all revenue districts and Bihar Government Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies and Vyapar Mandal will set up wheat procurement centers at every panchayat and block level.

At the same time, the entire process of wheat procurement will be online. In this, the farm owner or sharecropper farmer can register to sell paddy or wheat on the DBT portal of the Agriculture Department and the registration number received in it will have to be applied on the portal of the Cooperative Department. Farmers who have already registered on the DBT portal of the Bihar government do not need to do it again. Such farmers can apply directly on the portal of the Cooperative Department.

Farmers will have to give these 3 information

To sell wheat and register on the DTB portal, farmers are required to provide three information. Aadhaar number is mandatory in this. Apart from this, mobile number and land details will also have to be entered. The farmer will be registered on the basis of these three information, on the basis of which wheat can be sold at MSP. The government has appealed to the farmers to sell as much wheat as possible and avail the benefit by selling it at the government rate (Rs 2425 per quintal).
