Bank Holidays: Timing of banks will change, now banks will remain closed for 2 days in a week, work will be done for 5 days

5 Days Working in Banks: There is a relief news for lakhs of bank employees across the country. Now banks will work for 5 days every week (5day week rule in banks) and bank employees will get 2 days off in a week. Along with this, the timing of banks (new bank timing) will also change. Let’s know about this in detail in the news.

bank holiday rules Employees of all private and government banks have been demanding 5 days of work and 2 days off in a week (bank holiday rules) for a long time. Now a big update has come on this, according to which this rule (new rules for banks) will also be implemented along with the change in timings in banks.

As soon as this rule is implemented, employees working in all small and big banks in the private and government sector will have a good time. Let’s know about the latest updates related to this in the news.

This will be the new timing of banks

If the rule of 5 days work and 2 days holiday is implemented in banks, then new time for opening and closing of banks will be applicable. Bank employees will get 40 minutes more working time every day in lieu of Saturday and Sunday holiday (bank holidays list).

Now most of the banks open at 9:30 am and close at 5:30 pm. If the 5-day working rule is implemented, then the banks will remain open from 9 am to 5:40 pm.

There has been agreement on this

There is already a consensus between the Indian Banks Association and the employee unions on the issue that all government and private banks should work for 5 days a week and have 2 days off. But the central government and the RBI (RBI bank holiday rules) have not agreed on this.

The proposal placed before the government

The All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) associated with bank employees, in September last year, through a social media platform, sent the proposal of 5 days of work and 2 days of holiday in banks to the Finance Ministry and the PM Office. It has requested to approve this proposal.

Notification will be issued first

Now, several reports are claiming that the bank employees unions are hopeful that the government will implement this rule. The government can take a decision in this regard at any time and can also issue a notification (govt notification for banks). If any such rule is implemented, a notification will be issued first.

This rule was implemented in 2015

Before the year 2015, there was no holiday in banks on any Saturday (Saturday holiday rules). There were only Sundays and other national holidays. In 2015, the government and RBI (Reserve Bank of India) agreed with IBA on the rule of holiday in banks on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Since then, this rule has been implemented in banks.

RBI and government’s consent is pending

Now there are discussions among the employees that perhaps the central government and RBI will agree on the 5-day week rule (RBI new rules), in this hope, continuous demands are being made, but this is not considered easy. No consideration has been given to this till now, nor has there been any official confirmation.

Lakhs of bank employees will get relief

If the central government approves the rule of 5 days work and 2 days leave in banks (bank news), then it will provide relief to lakhs of bank employees across the country. Many bank officials are claiming that by implementing the rule of 5 day working week in banks (5 day working rules in banks), bank employees will get a chance to recharge. This will increase their efficiency and the work of banks will be completed on time. Only customers will benefit from this.

This is the expectation from the government

Employees hope that the government (govt update on bank holidays) will take a decision on this soon. If this demand of the employees is accepted, then every Saturday will be recognized as an official holiday (new rule for bank holidays) under Section 25 of the Indian Organization Act.
